Nutrition for Dancers: ENBS Launches Student Recipe Collection

Quick, balanced and performance-focused recipes to support training and recovery.

At English National Ballet School, we recognise that nutrition is a key component of professional dance training. A well-balanced diet enhances performance, aids muscle recovery, supports injury prevention and provides the sustained energy required for intensive studio and rehearsal schedules.

To support our students, particularly those living independently for the first time, we have created a curated collection of simple, nutritious recipes designed specifically for dancers. Generously contributed by ENBS staff and students and collated by our resident Nutritionist Maja Berry, the recipes prioritise:

  • Complex carbohydrates for sustained energy
  • Quality protein for muscle repair and growth
  • Healthy fats to support immunity and overall health
  • Fruit and vegetables for essential vitamins and fibre
  • Hydration and electrolytes to maintain peak performance

This practical resource empowers students to fuel their training effectively while managing busy schedules.
