Summer Performances

The Bloomsbury

In the final term of 2025, students of English National Ballet School were delighted to present two major programmes, showcasing the breadth of their training and artistry.

At The Bloomsbury, weeks of hard work in the studios culminated in a memorable Summer Performance that was warmly received by audiences. From Napoli, Graduation Ball, and Études to three striking contemporary works, the repertoire reflected the versatility of ENBS training and gave every student the opportunity to shine on stage.

The auditorium was filled with proud family and friends many of whom had travelled across the world to support their dancer. Staff also welcomed supporters and members of the press, who praised the quality and spirit of the performances.

“This was a performance that displayed not just technical polish, but an extraordinary sense of commitment and joy in dancing.”  Bachtrack

“The young performers of ENBS showed flair, precision and a maturity beyond their years.”  British Theatre Guide

“The visuals were chic and minimal, four dancers in blue beautifully synchronised at the barre but the movement was classical and meticulous with a combination of careful pliés and extensions.” London Theatre Reviews

The Next Generation Festival

Later in the summer, our students performed at The Linbury Theatre, Royal Opera House, as part of the prestigious Next Generation Festival. This annual event celebrates the excellence of vocational ballet and dance training worldwide, bringing together students from leading schools including The Royal Ballet School, Paris Opera Ballet School, and Canada’s National Ballet School.

For ENBS students, performing in the Next Generation Festival is an invaluable opportunity to share the stage with peers from internationally renowned institutions, experience the demands of a world-class venue, and present their artistry to a discerning audience of arts supporters, industry leaders, and ballet enthusiasts. It is a vital stepping stone in their development, bridging the gap between student life and the professional stage.

Lynne Charles, Artistic Director of ENBS, said:

“The Next Generation Festival is a truly unique platform. It places our students alongside some of the best young dancers in the world, giving them the chance to learn, to grow, and to be recognised for the standard of their training and performance. It is also an opportunity to showcase the extraordinary talent we nurture at ENBS to a global audience of arts supporters.”

Together, these performances underlined the dedication and progress of ENBS students, and the promise of the next generation of ballet dancers.
