We’re thrilled to celebrate Valentina Toscani, who has just begun her training at English National Ballet School this September and already achieved a remarkable milestone, placing second in the Royal Academy of Dance, Margot Fonteyn International Ballet Competition 2025.
Originally from Brazil, Valentina began her ballet journey at the age of three, inspired by a family deeply rooted in dance, her Grandmother is a devoted ballet enthusiast, her sister also a ballet dancer, and her mother a ballet teacher. Valentina trained at Balé do Teatro Escola Basileu, where her taent and determination quickly shone through. Taking part in The Fonteyn was a dream come true, made even more special by the fact that the competition took place in her home country.
“It was so lovely to have my family there with me when I performed,” she says. “It made the experience even more meaningful.”
Valentina danced in Freed of London pointe shoes, a brand that also helps support many students at English National Ballet School and she’s deeply grateful for their part in helping her prepare and perform at her best.
Starting full-time training at ENBS marks another dream realised.
“Studying at English National Ballet School has always been my dream,” Valentina shares. “I’m so excited to be here, to learn every day, and to grow surrounded by such amazing people.”
Since moving to London, she’s been enjoying exploring the city and building new friendships, embracing every part of her new life as an international student and young artist.
Her journey is just beginning and we can’t wait to see all that she will achieve during her time at ENBS and beyond.
