Madeline Squire is a creative dance artist, choreographer, and movement director. A graduate of English National Ballet School, she went on to dance with Scottish Ballet for eleven years as a First Artist.
She was most recently appointed Artist in Residence at The University of Edinburgh, Moray House School of Education and Sport, and returned to Scottish Ballet as a Guest Artist, performing the role of Older Queen Elizabeth in Mary, Queen of Scots.
Madeline creates work for both stage and screen, including Forming (2022), winner of Best Mini Film at the Portland Film Festival, and Breathless (2024), selected for the San Francisco Film Festival.
Her work is shaped by her experience of neurological recovery and disability, celebrating individuality and exploring new creative perspectives. She has created work independently and in collaboration with organisations including Scottish Ballet, the United Nations, Nowness, The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, London Vocational Ballet School, and The Royal Opera House.
