Laura Griffiths

Class of 2023

Corps de Ballet, The Australian Ballet

Growing up in the Macedon Ranges, Victoria, Australia, Laura Griffiths began her dance journey at just four years old with jazz classes, adding ballet to her weekly routine soon after. Her love of classical dance grew quickly, and she went on to study full-time at the Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School, training under the Cecchetti syllabus before being accepted into English National Ballet School at the age of sixteen.

During her time at ENBS, Laura flourished both artistically and technically. She performed on some of London’s most iconic stages, including Sadler’s Wells Theatre and The Roundhouse in Camden, and took part in a special creative collaboration at The Wallace Collection with students from the Royal College of Music and London College of Fashion, an experience that deepened her appreciation for the connection between dance, music, and design.

“I feel very grateful to the teachers and staff at ENBS who both challenged and inspired us.”
— Laura Griffiths

Reflecting on her time at ENBS, Laura has spoken fondly of the School’s international environment, where she developed her artistry under the guidance of inspiring teachers and alongside talented peers from around the world. The discipline, versatility, and creative curiosity she honed in London continue to influence her today.

In August 2023, Laura joined The Australian Ballet, where she is now proud to be part of a company that celebrates both the heritage and evolution of ballet. She is particularly inspired by the athleticism and innovation of William Forsythe’s choreography, as well as by timeless classics such as Giselle and The Sleeping Beauty works that honour the traditions she first fell in love with.

Always seeking new challenges, Laura remains deeply grateful for the solid foundation and artistic growth she gained at English National Ballet School, experiences that continue to shape her journey as a professional dancer.
