First Soloist English National Ballet
British dancer James Streeter began his professional training at English National Ballet School, where he developed the strong classical foundation and artistry that have defined his career. After graduating, James joined English National Ballet in 2004, rising through the ranks to become First Soloist in 2018.
Throughout his two decades with the Company, James has built an impressive and wide-ranging repertoire, performing major roles such as Albrecht in Akram Khan’s Giselle, Rothbart in Swan Lake, and both Drosselmeyer and the Rat King in The Nutcracker. Known for his powerful stage presence, musicality and dramatic depth, he brings intelligence and emotional nuance to every performance.
"I was very grateful to have been taught by incredible teachers, the two years that I was at English National Ballet School shaped me into a professional dancer. I’d had my grass roots training and ENBS gave me a platform to take that from something I loved and was inside me and it opened the door to offer me the opportunity to do it for a living and that’s something that I am eternally grateful for."
Reflecting on his journey, James credits his time at English National Ballet School with giving him the discipline, curiosity, and confidence to grow as both an artist and a professional.
