Wayne Eagling ARTISTIC DIRECTOR

Wayne Eagling was born in Montreal, Canada and grew up in California. Whilst working in California he was noticed by Michael Somes and Gerd Larsen of The Royal Ballet and asked to complete his ballet training in Britain. In 1969 he joined The Royal Ballet becoming a Principal Dancer in 1975.

At The Royal Ballet, Wayne danced all the major roles in the repertoire and worked with choreographers such as Sir Kenneth MacMillan, Sir Frederick Ashton, George Ballanchine, Jerome Robbins and Rudolph Nureyev, to name a few.

In 1991 Wayne took up the Artistic Directorship of the Dutch National Ballet where he was responsible for introducing many new choreographers and new, full evening ballets to the repertoire.
