Ivan Dinev BOYS BALLET - SOLOIST

Bulgarian-born Ivan trained at the State Conservatory, Sofia and joined the National Theatre Ballet of Prague in 1993 where he danced in Swan Lake (Jester), The Sleeping Beauty (Blue Bird) and works by Jirí Kylián.

Ivan was a finalist at the 1991 International Ballet Competition, Osaka; winner of the 1992 National Ballet Competition, Bulgaria and gained a Silver Medal at the 1996 New York Ballet Competition.

Since joining Scottish Ballet in 1996, Ivan has danced in many of the Company’s productions including Darrell’s The Nutcracker (Prince), Tales of Hoffmann (pas de trois) and Cinderella (Prince Ramiro), Cranko’s Romeo & Juliet (Mercutio), Ashton’s La Fille mal gardée (Alain), Tim Rushton’s Night Life (created role), Robert North’s Troy Game, Offenbach in the Underworld (Offenbach), Prince Rama and the Demons (Lakshmana) and Romeo and Juliet (Benvolio) and the title role in Robert Cohan’s Aladdin.
