We are delighted to announce the appointment of two new staff members from September 2013:
Vladislav Bubnov as Physiotherapist, and Olivier Wecxsteen as 2nd Year Men’s Tutor (secondment cover).
Moscow born Vladislav Bubnov trained at Bolshoi Ballet Academy from1979-1987. Following a professional career as a principal dancer with the Bolshoi Ballet, Scottish Ballet, Leipziger Ballet and English National Ballet, Vladislav decided to pursue a new profession and completed a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy at St Georges University of London.
Following his professional experience as a physiotherapist within the NHS, Vladislav then opted to further his practice as a musculoskeletal physiotherapist specialising in dance. Vladislav is delighted to join English National Ballet School as a physiotherapist and is looking forward to helping students to achieve their best.
Born in France, Olivier Wecxsteen trained at the Princess Grace Dance Academy of Monte-Carlo with Marika Besobrasova. Olivier began his career with Les Ballets de Monte Carlo, and during his five years with the company, was promoted to soloist. In 1993, Mr Wecxsteen then joined Boston Ballet under the direction of Bruce Marks. As a Principal Dancer, he danced all the leading roles of the company’s repertoire, including Swan Lake, Nutcracker, Don Quixote, Raymonda, Le Corsaire, and Balanchine’s Serenade and Who Cares?.
Mr Wecxsteen later joined Les Grands Ballet Canadiens as a Principal Dancer, and also performed as a guest artist with various North American companies including San Francisco Ballet. He then proceeded to join the staff of San Francisco Ballet School in 2009, and in 2011 became a faculty member of L'École supérieure de ballet du Québec. Mr Wecxsteen is very much looking forward to joining English National Ballet School as 2nd Year Men’s Tutor.
