New tutors join the School

We’re pleased to announce that Senri Kou, Monique Jonas and Simon Williams will join the School in September.

As previously announced, Senri Kou joins the joins as 1st Year Ballet Tutor. Senri brings a wealth of experience with her, having danced professionally for 18 years, with 16 of those being with Enlglish National Ballet where she performed a range of roles in major classical and contemporary works. Senri also has over 10 year’s experience of dance teaching. Having completed her training at bbodance, she has taught at institutions including London Studio Centre, London Junior and Senior Ballet, Central School of Ballet as well as conducting workshops for English National Ballet and working as a coach for the finalists in their Emerging Dancer competition.

Monique Jonas, who joined the School last year, will continue working with the School as Contemporary Dance Tutor. Monique trained at Rambert School and joined Richard Alston Company in 2016, performing with them until their final performances in 2020. Recently she was involved with the creation of Matthew Bourne’s New Adventures Romeo & Juliet. She founded her own company Jona Dance, to amplify silenced voices in contemporary dance. Monique received her Masters Degree from The London Contemporary Dance School, passing with distinction in 2017.

Working alongside Monique we’re thrilled to also be welcoming Simon Williams, who joins as Contemporary Dance Tutor. Simon trained at The Royal Ballet School and joined English National Ballet upon graduation. He later performed with Matthew Bourne’s New Adventures in Swan Lake, The Carman, The Nutcracker and Spitfire. He has also worked with Michael Clark Company. Mikhail Baryshnikov, Sylvie Guillem, Ivan Putrov and Kylie Minouge. Simon has been teaching Ballet and Contemporary professionally for 5 years. He has worked at Laine Theatre Arts, London Studio Centre and Morea Performing Arts and most recently joined Legat Dance Academy in 2016.

We look forward to welcoming them to the School at the start of the new academic year next month!
