We are privileged to have Mr Irek Mukhamedov in School this term as part of our teaching faculty.
Irek Mukhamedov was trained at the Ballet Academy of the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow (1970 – 1978). His exceptional ballet career started in 1978, when he became a First Soloist with the Moscow Classical Ballet Company. From 1981 to 1990, he was a Principal Dancer at the Bolshoi Ballet and then pursued his artistic career in London, where he was a Senior Principal Dancer at the Royal Ballet until 1998 and from 1998 to 2004, a Guest Principal Dancer of the same ballet ensemble. In that period of time, he also performed as a Principal Dancer with the Paris Opera Ballet, Royal Ballet of Flanders, State Opera Ballet in Vienna, Helsinki Ballet, La Scala Theatre Ballet in Milan, Scottish Ballet, Ballet Ensemble of the Opera National de Bordeaux, English National Ballet, Birmingham Royal Ballet as well as in the ballet ensembles in Santiago, Wiesbaden, Warsaw and the Australian National Ballet.
Director of Dance, Samira Saidi said "I am delighted and honoured that Mr Irek Mukhamedov is going to be with us until July to teach and coach our 2nd year students. His knowledge, experience and of course reputation is a huge inspiration to both our students and teachers and it is a great pleasure to welcome him into school".
