We are currently recruiting a Marketing and Communications Manager

Job Title:        Marketing and Communications Manager 

Salary:           £18,000 - £21,000 for 3 days (£30,000- £35,000 full-time equivalent)

Job type:        Permanent role working 3 days per week

Who we are looking for:

English National Ballet School, the official school of English National Ballet, is a specialist training centre for aspiring and highly talented young ballet dancers aged 16 to 19. We transform talented young dancers into world-class performers over a three-year programme validated by Trinity College, London. 

We are now looking for a new Marketing and Communications Manager to lead on the planning and delivery of all of the School’s internal and external communications activity. Working closely with the Executive Director and Artistic Director, the successful applicant will work to devise a comprehensive, strategic communications plan that actively and coherently promotes the aims and mission of the School across all communications, including the website, social media, PR activity, publications, and general comms.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience of marketing and communications in an arts organisation or school context, with knowledge and experience of dance. The full job description and person specification can be found below.

Governors 

English National Ballet School is at a pivotal point in its history as it emerges from the pandemic. The School has grown significantly over the past 2 years and now needs to consider what steps to take to ensure the School can manage that growth and flourish. In order to do this the School is looking for experienced Governors in the following areas in particular.

Arts Education

Previous experience in the performing arts in a further or higher education setting would be advantageous, as would be an international perspective

Finance

A Chartered Accountant with charitable and commercial experience

Development

Previous experience of fundraising, with a particular focus in sponsorship, in particular requesting and seeking funding from major donors and private trusts and facilitating introductions to new funders to School

Governor Requirements

  • Attendance at 4 Board meetings per year plus serving on a sub-committee of Board (Finance, Artistic & Education or Wellbeing and Safeguarding). Sub-committees also meet 4 times per year.
  • Governors serve for 3 years with the possibility of a further 3 years.
  • All meetings are currently held online but with the expectation of a return to some in person meetings in 2022.
  • Governors are not remunerated but reasonable travel expenses will be paid where necessary.
